NVivo 11 Mac
QSR NVIVO 11 for Mac is a feature-rich qualitative data analysis application providing a set of powerful tools. QSR NVIVO 11 for Mac Review NVIVO is known for its best data analysis feature, it is specially designed for qualitative data analysis. After copying the Nvivo app into the Applications folder, open the Application folder and double click the Nvivo icon to begin the installation. After verification the following message will come up on you screen. Click on Open to proceed. After entering your Mac admin password, the license agreement will be displayed. MyNVivo is an online account system for NVivo and its associated cloud modules: Collaboration Cloud, NVivo - Integration and Transcription. Purchasers and most users of these products must have a myNVivo profile and account (see myNVivo profiles and accounts below).

What's new in NVivo Mac
Improved coding experience
Now you can code even faster than before with the new coding panel available in NVivo Mac (Version 11.3).
Select some content and then click Code at the top of Detail View—or use the keyboard shortcut (⌘ + /)—to display the coding panel and code to an existing, new or recent node.
Import data from OneNote Online
If you use OneNote Online, you can now bring your pages into NVivo Mac (Version 11.3).
There are many different ways you can use OneNote to gather your materials. For example:
If you are working in the office, you can use the desktop version of OneNote to clip web pages, make notes and keep to-do lists.
If you are working in the field, you can use OneNote on your smartphone or tablet to record field observations, record interviews or take photos of research settings and participants.
You can import your notes by connecting to your work, school or Microsoft account from within NVivo, and then selecting the pages that you want to import.
Visualize your ideas and data in new ways

NVivo Mac provides new visualizations:
Mind maps let you brainstorm ideas and visualize your thoughts. Once you've created a mind map, you can automatically turn your ideas into theme nodes. (Version 11.2 or later)
Explore diagrams focus on a single project item, showing all of the items connected to that item. The power of this diagram is that it is dynamic, allowing you to step forward and back through your project data to explore the connections between items. (Version 11.2 or later)
Comparison diagrams can show you what two items have in common and where they differ. Generate a comparison diagram to compare two of the same type of project items—sources, nodes or cases—to see their similarities and differences. (Version 11.3 or later)
Hierarchy charts can help you to see coding patterns and compare sources or nodes based on their attribute values. You can display the hierarchy chart as a tree map or a sunburst. (Version 11.2 or later)
Import your bibliographic data from reference management tools
If you conduct a literature review using EndNote, Mendeley, RefWorks or Zotero, you can import the references into NVivo Mac.
You can import bibliographic references from:
EndNote XML files into NVivo Mac (Version 11.1 or later).
Mendeley, RefWorks, Zotero RIS files into NVivo Mac (Version 11.3 or later)
When you import bibliographic data:
References without associated files are imported into NVivo as external sources.
References with associated files can be imported into NVivo as internal sources.
Sources created when you import your references are assigned to a source classification (so that reference information can be stored as attribute values on the source).
If you have made notes about your references, these notes can be imported into NVivo as linked memos.
Support for teamwork
NVivo Mac (Version 11.1 or later) supports working in teams with the following new features:
Import project If more than one user wants to work on a project at the same time, you can establish a 'master' project, and then give a copy of the master project to each team member. The team members work in the copied projects while you work in the master project. At regular intervals, import your team members' work into the master project.
Coding comparison query A Coding Comparison query enables you to compare coding done by two users or two groups of users on text sources—for example, documents and PDF. Compare coding to measure the 'inter-rater reliability' (Kappa coefficient) or degree of agreement for coding between the users. You can choose to base the calculations on character, sentence or paragraph. You can choose to display the results with weighted values (source size is taken into account when calculating the overall results for each node).
If you have NVivo for Mac (Version 11.1.1 or later), you can also see where there is agreement or disagreement in coding between users or groups of users. Green, yellow and blue shading helps you to quickly see which passages were coded the same or differently.
Remove (and merge) project user profiles You can remove a user profile and nominate a 'replacement user'—all project content associated with the user you are removing, will be associated with the replacement user.
Work with picture sources
You can import photos or other images and analyze them in NVivo as picture sources. When working with a picture source you can:
Create a log to record notes about the picture or about regions of the picture.
Code the picture or regions of the picture directly, or code the text in the log.
Import social media data from Facebook and Twitter
You can use the NCapture browser extension (available from the Chrome Store) to gather Facebook wall posts and comments by organizations or public groups relevant to your research.
You can also use NCapture to gather Twitter content—for example, you can gather Tweets that:
Mention a particular username.
Include a particular word or phrase or hashtag.
Are by a person or organization that is relevant to your project.
Social media data collected with NCapture is imported into NVivo as a dataset source, and NVivo provides special auto coding features to help you group the data. For example, you can auto code Facebook posts and comments that are part of the same conversation to a node. Similarly, you can auto code Tweets by username and hashtag.
Add demographic information to cases when you auto code a dataset
Now when you auto code a dataset, you can quickly classify the case nodes you create.
For example, if your dataset contains responses to a survey with demographic information about the respondents, you can use the Auto Code Assistant to:
Create cases for each respondent.
Classify (assign attribute values to) each of the cases.
Code the responses to each of the cases.
Improved cases experience
Case nodes are now stored in their own folder within your project and have their own unique icon, so it's easier to identify the cases in your project.
When you open (and convert) an NVivo for Mac (Version 10) project, classified nodes are converted to cases and stored in the Cases folder.
